May Wong is a fully registered and endorsed Health Psychologist who specialises in providing psychological counselling to clients with chronic health issues. May is an approved Medicare provider who is trained in providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Therapy.

May believes that it is essential to focus on the relationship between mental and physical well-being. Her treatment experience includes supporting adults and adolescents to manage:
• Chronic pain
• Diabetes
• Physical rehabilitation following surgery
• Cardiac and pulmonary issues
• Cancer
• Weight issues
• Adjustment to ill health, illness or disability.
Additionally, May provides psychological treatment for stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, smoking and medication cessation, weight loss, and adjustment concerns.

May was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Australia and speaks fluent Cantonese and some Mandarin, in addition to English.

May believes that the most important aspect of therapy is to work to understand and improve each person’s unique situation and experiences. She is an engaging, empathetic psychologist who models a client-centred approach to therapy.
