Cause Effect Psychology are seeking a Medicare-approved, registered Psychologist who have a professional interest in either men’s mental health / trauma / adolescent issues and / or couples therapy. You will be joining an established team of Psychologists and clinical administrators. We deliver evidence-based psychological interventions for adolescents, adults and couples. We support a wide range of referral streams and we hold an exceptional reputation locally.
We are open Monday to Saturday (8:30am – 6:30pm) and there are many opportunities to structure your work days around your family, lifestyle or alternate work preferences. We are able to offer anywhere from 1 to 3 days of work per week, depending on whether you are looking to supplement your existing income or work more to a full-time status (for a psychologist, FTE usually equates to around 20-25 sessions per week). We would prefer applicants who have ability to offer some after hours’ (i.e. 4:30pm onwards) or Saturday appointments to assist with accommodating high school students and full time workers to access counselling around study or work demands.
Cause Effect Psychology’s Office Manager and administration team take care of all client bookings, payments and referral communications so you only need to focus on the therapeutic work, professional compliance and your self-care.
You will be able to access mentorship and supervision from the Psychologist Directors and the team should you require assistance with matters such as client reporting, medico-legal matters or the management of complex, high risk cases. The practice will grow your caseload and ensure we align clients with your areas of specialty and preference.

We are a friendly, easy-going group who take our therapeutic work seriously, but not ourselves. Working in private practice can be isolating for psychologists so we make a point of bringing everyone together to celebrate special occasions, anniversaries and milestones. Each of our practitioners work in selected areas of speciality and we all value ongoing professional development. This creates many opportunities for peer supervision and good banter over lunch or a cuppa in our break-out area.
Who we are looking for…
You will have a passion for client care, confidence in your well-honed mental health assessment and counselling skills and the ability to work autonomously in a team environment. You have a knack for building and maintaining good therapeutic rapport with your clients. You practice what you preach (i.e. you value self-care, self-compassion and saying no to additional demands when you need to). Full registration in your field and with AHPRA as well as eligibility to work under the Medicare Better Access Scheme are essential.
